August 27th, 2011 was an absolutely lovely day for a wedding. While a hurricane raged through the East Coast—where Cara, Ryan and number of the wedding party and guests came in from—the day couldn’t have been better in St. Louis. The sun was shining and a light breeze proved fantastic company throughout the afternoon and into the evening.
But what was even better than the ideal weather was the incredibly fun couple that is Cara and Ryan.
Together, the two make up one of those couples that you can’t help but laugh around. Having a great time at their wedding was clearly the top priority of the day—and everyone else was more than happy to oblige and come along for the ride.
Ryan and his pals were an absolute pleasure to be around. They kept each other (and us) laughing all day (we may or may not have overheard a few “that’s what she said” jokes along the way, and as always, they were very much appreciated). And it was great to see Ryan channel his inner Gene Kelly from “Singin’ in the Rain” while we photographed at the Marriott Hotel at Union Station (that was before he treated the fellas to a piano solo).
Cara gave her bridesmaids very thoughtful and unique gifts. The gals received a pair of Chuck Taylor Converse shoes, but each had something special incorporated in its custom design specific for each bridesmaid.
And the elegant floral arrangements are courtesy of Barbara O’Brien (of Silver Garden).
Fat Pocket Funk was a fantastic choice for getting people out of their seats and on the dance floor. They played hits throughout the night and transformed the Lakeside Cafe at the St. Louis Zoo into a party central for the lively group.
Congratulations Cara and Ryan! Wishing you all the best.
